Movie themes (updated)

Following on this post, here are some more great themes, not western.

An obvious one, the Colonel Bogie March:

Too cool to talk too much about:

And another "great" one:

And this one is not a movie theme, but I like it and I liked the TV show, and it came up on a search for the last one:

A very nice song for a fun show.

UPDATE: Wolfwalker adds some more excellent themes:

The Longest Day:

And from A Bridge Too Far:

Jeez, how come no one can write stuff like that anymore?

You want memorable war movie themes?

I'll give you two.

The Longest Day

The Paratroopers March from "A Bridge Too Far".

Not in the same class, but still memorable, is this number from "The Enemy Below."

Martial music? Are you suggesting that we revert to the jingoistic feelings of earlier generations?

My answer: Hell, yes!

A few composers can. But nobody is making patriotic war movies or westerns anymore, so they wind up composing for other venues. Consider the Main Title or the Imperial March from Star Wars, or the Raiders March from Raiders of the Lost Ark, or the main title from Jurassic Park. Or (a personal favorite) the first-season main title score from Babylon 5, by a chap named Christopher Franke.
