The Rifles I Still Want

[This post prompted by this week's Big 5 ad, which has Garands on sale for $800, which cash I do not have]

I've posted it before, but if I had the cash, here are some rifles I'd want:

A Garand.

A 1903 Springfield.

A 1892 Krag-Jorgensen.

A 1873 Springfield in .45-70 (not to mention a boatload of others in .45-70, including the Remington rolling block).

And a bunch of others.

[sigh] I need a boatload of spare cash.

I've still got two I want...CZ makes a bolt action .223 that I'd love to have, and what girl wouldn't want a .50? ;D

The one I want? This. Or this, as an alternate.

Besides the cash outlay, getting suitable ammo would be a problem; Kahr recommends ONLY brass ammo, no steel case. Plus, surprise surprise!, all of their weapons are back ordered. I can't imagine why.

TW: peessest. Yeah, I know whom you're talking about, and he's indeed a pest.

I have an 03 Springfield. It's been mounted on a sporting stock -- it was my dad's hunting rifle. But it's still an 03 Springfield.

Suck it, my friend.

Ken, I should have asked.......what sort of Garands are on sale at the "Big 5"? $800 for one is an EXCELLENT deal.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program is currently offering used Garands for around $400 to $500 (and up, I must note), if you want to wait 3-4 months for the order to be processed.

Assuming that you are already registered with the CMP in the first place. I am, mostly for the ammo deals.
