No particular reason

Other than the incredible awesome that is Booker T and the MGs.

Unfortunately not to be embedded, here is "Time is Tight" and "Soul Limbo".

But here is a live, embeddable version of "TiT" (the jokes just write themselves, don't they?)

I had forgotten that I made that observation, though it's true. I was running through some of my classics just the other night.

Note of semi interest: My office does a holiday photo every year and this year we were going to do a McLemore Avenue/Abbey Road tribute. But we couldn't coordinate everyone together and couldn't decide on where exactly to shoot the picture. I don't think I could convince a couple of folks in the office to go to McLemore.

[hangs head in shame] I had to look up the reference to "McLemore Avenue".

I am full of (Booker T) fail.

The funny thing is if you check both album covers the Beatles were walking casually through a crosswalk all proper like. McLemore Ave has Booker T and the MGs walking right across the middle of the street. People do this EVERYWHERE in Memphis and depending on where in Memphis you are is how bad people will just walk out in front of you. McLemore Ave is in the area where people would walk in the middle of the street with complete disregard to traffic.

Heh. When I looked it up, I saw the album cover and sorta, kinda noticed that. But having driven in San *spit* Frisco *spit* more than once, it barely registered that the pedestrians outside of a crosswalk might be unusual.
