For many years now I've been planning to someday see Bridge on the River Kwai. I've read (listened to) the book in the far distant past, and I do prefer the movie's end to the book's (I've seen enough clips from the movie to know how it ends). Anyway, I plan to see this movie.
But I'm soliciting opinions from those in the know about another movie.
Many many years ago, back in the late
But all these many years later, it's tough to find it in the stores. So my question to this vast audience, and in particular those who have seen this movie, is: should I expend lots of time and energy finding a copy of this movie? Or is it not worth the trouble? Call now, enquiring minds want to know!

Never heard of the movie, Ken, so I have to pass.

Make sure you reserve a full afternoon. You'll need it. The movie runs about three hours, the state of amazement lasts another one. Maybe one and a half.
Also make sure your writing-cabinet is heavily stocked with positive adjectives and adverbs. You'll need them afterward to describe Alec Guinness's performance.
As for the other movie you mention, I've never heard of it either.
I concur with wolfwalker on "Bridge on the River Kwai". I shoulda said so before, but better late than never.
I'll see if I can download a pirated copy if you like. I don't feel wrong using P2P for things that are out of print or otherwise hard to find legitimately.
That would be kind of cool, Joel. I made a brief search of Amazon and it appears to be out of print.
Purely in the spirit of causing trouble...
How can a movie go "out of print?"
Maybe Ken is thinking about the old-fashioned celluoid films, wolfwalker.
He is kinda old-fashioned. At heart, anywho.

Yes, 'tis true.
I don't know the Bowie movie - but I agree with Wolfwalker. Alec Guinness gives one of the greatest performances I have ever seen in that film. I'd rank it with the best of all time.
Thanks for the input everybody! Bridge is rapidly moving up on my list of must sees.
Hey ken, maybe you can use your tax refund check from California to pay for your movie rental?
