Quote of the Day

From ABC News, by way of Instapundit, comes absolutely the most mind-numbingly, gob-smackingly, cringe-worthily, head-bangingly, many-other-disparaging-adverbs-ily idiotic line it has been my displeasure to read in months. As "Upper-Income Taxpayers Look for Ways to Sidestep Obama Tax-Hike Plan", some joker at ABC wonders:
VOTE: Is it fair to reduce high salaries to sidestep President Obama's tax proposal? Share your opinion with ABCNews.com.
Here's my opinion, ABCNews.com: Someone on your staff is a drooling imbecile.

Did you notice that the results are running heavily in favor of avoiding the taxes? Maybe there IS hope for this country.

I never clicked through until just now, but that is good.

OTOH, there are more than 500 idiots who think highly paid people are bad for making less money so they pay less in taxes.

The mind reels.

Most of the MSM staff are drooling idiots. It's a condition for employment.

Wait...WHAT?

"Is it fair" to allow a person to reduce their tax burden?

*&($%)(*#*$%. A better question is: "Is it fair that money is being sucked out of my hardworking pockets (well, not that my pockets work hard but the person wearing them does) to go to fund some congresscritter's pork plan, or to allow someone without a shred of responsibility in their body to take money from the state, or to be wasted in a giant bureaucratic cesspool?"

or

"IS it fair that the next four generations are going to have to pay for the disastrous make-work plans that are being proposed to 'save' the economy?"

What's next? "Is it fair to allow people to donate to charity, knowing they will get a tax write-off for it"?

The black-helicopter-watcher in me suspects that that's exactly the agenda. If charitable donations drop off enough, government will be "forced" to take up the slack.
